Migraine headaches are a common neurological disorder that can be debilitating for patients. As frontline healthcare providers, pharmacists play an important role in identifying, educating, recommending treatment, and referring patients presenting with symptoms of a migraine. This eLearning module will provide pharmacists with a comprehensive overview of the phases of a migraine attack and their associated symptoms. Attendees will also learn about the latest evidence for over-the-counter medications, nutraceuticals, and nonpharmacologic strategies used to treat a migraine attack and prevent future episodes. In addition, learners will leave with a deeper understanding of the important role that pharmacists play in managing migraine headaches, as well as the tools and resources needed to help patients achieve better outcomes.
